Kulturhusene i Danmark is a frequent partner in projects at both national and international level.
The organisation plays an active part in developing and sustaining projects organised by The European Network of Cultural Centres, e.g. the staff exchange program Bridge Between European Cultural Centres (BECC).
In 2010 the ENCC will launch a new concept which rethinks the traditional study trip.
The project Take Away Culture !TAC! will present an easy way of organising visits to interesting cultural hot spots aimed at the many employees as well as volunteers who are engaged in the more than 2.000 cultural centres that are represented in the ENCC through 11 national organisations. !TAC! encourages local organisers to set up an interesting program, whereas the participants make their own travel arrangements and undertake their own expenses. In this way !TAC! will present an opportunity for people to create their own personal networks as they broaden their knowledge of how cultural centres are designed and managed in other countries.

Kulturhusene i Danmark values international collaboration and seeks to engage in networks and projects with international partners.
The association is an active member of and represented in the board of the European Network of Cultural Centres (www.encc.eu ), an organization of 11 national societies of cultural centres from countries within Europe.
Kulturhusene i Danmark is also a member of Culture Action Europe (formerly the European Forum of Arts and Heritage, www.efah.org )
The national society of Danish cultural centres "Kulturhusene i Danmark” is an NGO with 90 cultural centres as members. The society was established in 1987 with all activities funded by the members and since 1999 partly funded by the Danish Ministry of Culture. The general aim of the society is to strengthen and develop local artistic and cultural activity based on democratic and participatory qualities.
Kulturhusene i Danmark distributes relevant information to and between the members, politicians, civil servants, experts and others with an interest in the area. This is mainly done by organizing public meetings and conferences of current interest. Kulturhusene i Danmark furthermore provides consultancy to members of the society as well as to local authorities regarding all sorts of problems in connection with management or establishing of cultural centres.
The cultural centres are seen as the necessary physical frame around cultural processes primarily based on local initiative. Although the centres differ a lot when it comes to size and facilities, they all share the fundamental purpose of arranging and presenting cultural events on a professional level, as well as facilitating local cultural initiatives with both know-how, rooms and workshops.

Kulturhusene i Danmark er gennem ENCC medlem af Culture Action Europe (tidl. the European Forum of Arts and Heritage, www.efah.org)
